HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Christian County Literacy Council is looking for volunteers to fill spots for their annual Community Reader Day on Nov. 15. This special day supports the council’s mission of promoting literacy in the community.
Volunteers will read books chosen by the Literacy Council to primary grade or upper division students in Christian County. The books will each have a common theme and are later donated to the schools after the readings.
Morning and afternoon time slots are still available, and anyone interested can expect to spend at least 30 minutes in a classroom. To register as a volunteer reader, fill out the Literacy Council form. Volunteers will receive an email with their assigned school, time slot, and book, the week prior to the event.
