CLARKSVILLE, TN (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Christian County Lady Colonels traveled to Kenwood High School for a matchup with the Knights. While Kenwood was able to put up points, a 20-point effort from Neveah Day led the Colonels to a 74-49 victory.

Early on, the Colonels played a physical brand of basketball that was working well on both ends of the floor, leading to a 39-23 halftime lead for Christian County.

Kenwood head coach Jemiah Harrison said she would like to see her team be more active on the glass.

“We struggled early with boxing out and grabbing rebounds,” said Harrison. “They’re a really good team, and if we take away the turnovers and rebounds, we’re in that game. We moved the ball well, everyone scored, it was just the little things.”

The Colonels continued their success in the second half with a total team effort, having three girls score 15 or more, including 20 points from forward Neveah Day. Christian County cruised to a 74-49 victory.

It was the first game of the season for their girls, and Colonels head coach Kiki Radford said her girls wanted to put on a show.

“We haven’t had a game, and our girls wanted to show everybody what we’re made of,” said Radford. “Our intensity on the defensive end is where it started, and we were able to turn that into offense and pull out a win.”
