HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Downtown Hopkinsville was filled with lights, music, and crowds Saturday evening as the annual HES/EnergyNet Night Christmas Parade made its way through the city.

The parade started at Glass Avenue and traveled south along Main Street. This year’s parade featured 102 entries, including 22 floats, with the theme “Christmas Vacation.” HES led the parade with an antique truck.

The lineup also included the 101st color guard and band, law enforcement agencies and multiple fire departments from across the county. Derrick Watson, who is retiring from the Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority, served as the parade’s grand marshal.

Once the parade ended, people gathered at Founders Square for the lighting of the downtown Christmas tree around 7 p.m. The tree, which was grown locally at Little River Park, was decorated with over 4,000 lights.
