HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – As the snow and ice thaw out around the city, there are a few events you can check out in Hopkinsville. Head downtown for a night of poetry, support a local fundraiser with a pancake breakfast and more.

Open Mic Poetry Night

  • When: Feb. 7, doors open at 5:30 p.m.; performances begin at 6 p.m.
  • Where: The Book & Bottle Shop
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: Share original poems, perform a favorite author’s work, or simply enjoy a night of creativity and community. The evening’s theme is “New Beginnings,” though participation in the theme is optional. Performances are limited to five minutes and up to three poems or pages of prose. Early registration is available for performers, with remaining spots open for sign-ups at the door.

Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast

  • When: Feb. 7 from 7-11 a.m.
  • Where: War Memorial Building
  • Cost: $7
  • Details: Kiwanis Club of Hopkinsville fundraiser to help support the children and community. A ticket will supply all you can eat pancakes and sausage, with refreshments also available. Carryout is available.

Jeeps & Brews

  • When: Feb. 7 from 4-8 p.m.
  • Where: Hopkinsville Brewing Company
  • Cost: Free to attend; food and drinks available for purchase
  • Details: Join the Hopkinsville Jeep Club for a laid-back evening celebrating all things Jeep. Enjoy craft beer, good company, and Jeep talk while showing off your ride or swapping trail stories. The meetup is family-friendly and may include food trucks and live music when available. Open to all Jeep owners and fans.

AJ’s 69th Birthday at Casey Jones

  • When: Feb. 7, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Where: Casey Jones Distillery
  • Cost: Free to attend
  • Details: Join Casey Jones Distillery in celebrating AJ’s 69th birthday and a meaningful milestone following the recent sale of the distillery. The day features food from Palate Junkies Fish Fry (12:30–8 p.m.), live music by Country Twang (6:30–8:45 p.m.), and a special release of AJ’s Birthday Blend Batch 5, a limited 7-year-old bourbon with only 100 bottles available, which may be AJ’s final birthday blend.
