HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Christian County Middle School will proceed with the school day after a possible gas leak was investigated Tuesday morning.
A statement from Christian County Public Schools disclosed that the odor of gas was reported the morning of Feb. 24 before the start of school. Emergency crews responded to investigate, with Atmos Energy, the Hopkinsville Fire Department and CCPS maintenance conducting multiple tests and inspecting the area. It was determined that there was no gas leak.
According to CCPS, the building was deemed safe and no evacuation was necessary. Classes at Christian County Middle School resumed as scheduled.
