HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The City of Hopkinsville is warning the public about loud cannon fire sounds that are expected to be heard on Friday evening.
According to a Public Safety Notice, an artillery unit will be hosting a Military Ball at The Bruce on March 13. During this event, around ten blank wax rounds will be fired in the vicinity of the convention center which will great loud popping sounds similar to gun or cannon fire.
“This is a scheduled ceremonial activity associated with the event. Please do not be alarmed if you hear loud cannon fire in the area that evening,” said a statement from the city, reminding the public that there is no threat to the public if the noises are heard.
The Bruce is located at 303 Conference Center Drive near the Lovers Lane exit of I-169.
