HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A teenager was injured Monday morning while crossing the street to board a school bus in Hopkinsville.
The morning of March 23, a 17-year-old female student walked out of a nearby fenced area to cross South Clay Street onto Second Street toward the parked school bus. The driver of a Mazda CX-5 struck the girls left foot when she was crossing, according to a collision report from Hopkinsville Police
The student told police that she got off the bus to go back to her house to drop an item off and was reboarding the bus when the accident occurred. The driver of the vehicle stated that the lights on the school bus were off when they drove by, which was confirmed by the school bus driver.
HPD says she was transported by the hospital to be treated for a possible foot injury.
