HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – In Hopkinsville to wrap up spring break this weekend you have a chance to explore exotic animals and outdoor plants, along with shopping among local makers and painting a community space at a variety of events this weekend.

Garden and Outdoor Living Expo

  • When: April 10-11
  • Where: Christian County Extension Office Expo Center
  • Cost: Free admission
  • Details: Both days will have local and regional exhibitors with a variety of outdoor offerings along with kids’ activities, a scavenger hunt and food vendors. There will also be free tree seedlings available while supplies last and gardening seminars.

Show Me Reptiles & Exotics Show

  • When: April 11 from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., April 11 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Where: The Bruce
  • Cost: General admission $15, VIP $20
  • Details: Lizards, snakes, frogs, spiders displayed by vendors for purchase. Pet accessories, feeders, enclosures, supplies and fun products will also be on site. VIP tickets get access one hour prior to opening on Saturday.

Skate and Paint

  • When: April 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Where: Hopkinsville Skate Park, 2700 Richard Street
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: A day of revitalizing the skate park with hand painted murals and artwork along with a community celebration. Hotdogs and burgers will be served along with snacks and ice cream. Bouncy houses will be on site and live music throughout the day.

Hoptown Makers’ Market

  • When: April 12 from 12-4 p.m.
  • Where: The Silo at 110 John Rives Road
  • Cost: $3 entry, kids 12 and under are free
  • Details: Shop over two dozen vendors stocked with handmade items including local artisans, bakers, crafters and creators. Food trucks will be on site.
