Updated 7:34 p.m. Land Between the Lakes has shared that the Energy Fire has grown to 84 acres with 90% containment.

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – On April 10 just before 5 p.m., Land Between the Lakes issued a fire alert for the area.

Forest Service crews are currently responding to a 60-acre wildfire that is spreading on the Kentucky side of Land Between the Lakes. This is occurring north of Energy Lake along FS Road 134 and south of FS Road 322.

Visitors are being asked to avoid this area if possible. Access to Energy Lake Campground remains open. The cause of the fire has not been disclosed at this time. This is separate from controlled, prescribed burns that were scheduled for earlier in the week at the park.

A few weeks ago on March 29, 450 acres were damaged by a human-made wildfire at LBL. The fire occurred off of FS Road 337.
