OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Around 5 p.m. on April 10 Hopkinsville Fire/EMS responded to a collision between two semi-trucks near Exit 86 in the eastbound lanes that resulted in a spill of non-toxic materials.

One patient was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center with non-critical injuries despite the severe damage to the truck.

Going into Saturday morning, Oak Grove PD shared that the eastbound lanes at Exit 86 are still closed as Christian County Emergency Management works to clear the roadway that is adjacent to ongoing construction.

Crews are awaiting the arrival of an environmental team to assess the spill. Throughout the day, drivers can expect significant delays and traffic officers are in place to assist with detours, according to Oak Grove PD.

“Keep in mind that traffic conditions in a construction zone can change unexpectedly, which is why the speed limit has been lowered considerably in this area,” said a statement from police.
