HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – As retail developments are continually announced in nearby Clarksville, Tennessee, what big box stores would you like to see come to Hopkinsville-Christian County?

It was announced this week that Costco is planning to open a store in Clarksville just a few miles over the state line, expected open in spring of 2028. This store will act as the anchor tenant for Freedom Farms, a 220-acre development between Governor’s Square Mall and Interstate 24, according to reporting from news affiliate Clarksville Now.

Clarksville also recently had a groundbreaking for a new Sprouts Farmers Market, Tim Hortons is planning a location there, and another 178,000-square-foot building is being planned for a national retailer on Tiny Town Road. With Buc-ee’s in Oak Grove still years away, the last significant retail store was Ollie’s in 2025, with Rural King arriving at Bradford Square Mall in 2024.
