HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – After severe weather moved through Hopkinsville and Christian County Thursday evening, one home was damaged and a man was injured by a tree.

Around 6 p.m. on April 16, Hopkinsville Fire/EMS responded to the 800 block of East 12th Street due to a tree falling through the second story of a home leaving an adult male resident of the home trapped underneath.

According to a statement from HFD, the resident’s family was able to extricate him before crews arrived. He was transported with non-life-threatening traumatic injuries to Jennie Stuart Medical Center.

Fire crews are advising the public that multiple trees and power lines are down in the city as they continue to respond around the county due to severe weather. Pennyrile Electric reported hundreds of outages, especially in the Pembroke area. They are also reminding residents to not drive through powerlines.
