HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A Hopkinsville man was arrested Tuesday in a shooting that happened on East Street on Oct. 2.

Hopkinsville Police said the suspect fired shots into a home, damaging the house and the car outside. The suspect drove away from the scene and hit a fire hydrant, damaging the hydrant and his vehicle. No one was injured in the shooting, according to reports.

Through investigation, police identified the suspect as a convicted felon who is not allowed to posses a firearm. On Tuesday, he was arrested at his home, where police found 8 ounces of marijuana, 10 packages of THC-laced gummies, 70 buprenorphine strips, scales and a handgun.

Police arrested him and charged him with leaving the scene of an accident, trafficking marijuana, possession of a handgun by convicted felon, first-degree criminal mischief, and second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
