HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for Christian County that is in effect until 11 p.m. on April 27. Currently, wind gusts up to 25 mph are possible ahead of storms.
Scattered to numerous severe storms are expected this afternoon into tonight. Very large hail, greater than golf ball size, strong tornadoes, and damaging winds will be possible, according to NWS in Paducah. They are currently predicting that the greatest threat is southeast Missouri and southern Illinois.

“This is a particularly dangerous situation! Strong, long-tracked tornadoes will be possible this afternoon through this evening,” said a statement from NWS Paducah.
A severe weather outlook puts Christian County at an enhanced risk for severe weather. Flash flood threats may be possible due to torrential downpours.
This article will be updated as severe weather moves through.
