HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – An older man was transported to a hospital with serious injuries after an accident involving livestock Wednesday morning.

Around 10:15 a.m., emergency services were alerted that a 71-year-old man had been trampled by a cow at a stockyard along the 3500 block of Cadiz Road in Hopkinsville.

The victim sustained multiple traumatic injuries, with the cow weighing around 1,000 pounds, according to Hopkinsville Fire Department spokesperson Payton Rogers. Air Medical was requested by EMS, but the request was denied to due weather in the area.

The man was ultimately transported by Hopkinsville EMS to Vanderbilt Clarksville in serious condition due to his injuries.
