Work week weather: Several days of showers, storms possible for Christian County

Christian County forecast: Severe weather is possible, with rain and storms coming in Tuesday through the rest of the week.

HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The National Weather Service in Paducah is anticipating numerous thunderstorms this week beginning Tuesday, with a daily chance of afternoon storms through Saturday which may result in severe weather.

Showers and storms are expected through midweek, with the wettest conditions likely Wednesday and Friday. Temperatures will cool slightly into the upper 70s and low 80s as clouds and rain persist.

Local heavy rainfall and localized flash flooding are also a concern alongside the storms.

Monday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 3pm, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. South wind 11 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Monday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. South wind 5 to 8 mph.
Tuesday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. South southwest wind 8 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Tuesday night: Showers and thunderstorms likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 10pm. Low around 65. South southwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
Wednesday: Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 1pm. High near 79. Calm wind becoming north 5 to 7 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
Wednesday night: A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. North wind 3 to 7 mph.
Thursday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77. East northeast wind 5 to 7 mph.
