HOPKINSVILLE, KY – The City of Hopkinsville will implement updated cemetery rates beginning July 1, 2026, marking the first rate adjustment in nearly 20 years.
The changes are necessary to help ensure the continued care, maintenance, and preservation of the city’s cemeteries in a responsible and cost-effective manner.
Over the past two decades, operational costs associated with cemetery maintenance have steadily increased, including equipment, labor, landscaping, materials, and overall upkeep. Despite these rising expenses, cemetery rates have remained unchanged. The updated pricing structure will help the city continue providing respectful, well-maintained spaces for families and loved ones for years to come.
The additional revenue generated through the rate adjustment will directly support ongoing cemetery operations, including grounds maintenance, beautification efforts, equipment needs, and long-term preservation.
Citizens with questions regarding the updated rates or cemetery services are encouraged to contact Hopkinsville Public Works at 270-890-0600.
