HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Pools, splash pads and water parks are preparing to open across western Kentucky, with many places to explore with families during summer break.
Although the local waterpark, Bluegrass Splash Family Aquatic Center, has been shut down by the city for 2026, there are still fun places in, and near Christian County to visit from Bowling Green to Paducah and Madisonville. Here are a few locations to enjoy the water this summer.
Pools, splash pads
Gordon Park Spray Park
- Location: Crofton, Kentucky
- Opens Memorial Day weekend
Located inside Gordan Park, this free splash pad is fenced in with multiple fountains for kids to play in. In addition to the splash pad, the park has basketball and volleyball courts along with a softball field, walking trail, a new massive playground, and a pond for catch and release fishing. Hours are posted outside of the park.
- Location: Hopkinsville, Kentucky

Members of the Hopkinsville Family YMCA will have access to their pool throughout the hot summer months. Their outdoor pool has a water slide for kids, diving boards and lap lanes. They also offer swim lessons, training, and aquatics classes throughout the summer.
- Location: Fort Campbell, Kentucky
- Opens May 23
During the summer on Fort Campbell, there are two outdoor pools available for residents with Military ID’s. They will both be opening on May 24. The Baldonado Pool is located at 2571 Screaming Eagle Boulevard, and the Dolan Pool is at 1566 William C. Lee Road.

This zero-depth entry public pool at Russell Sims Aquatic Center has spraying palm trees, water buckets, a splash playground and beach area along with kid’s water slides and diving boards in their 50-meter pool with the price of admission. Concessions are available for purchase.
Nobel Park Pool/Robert Coleman Sprayground
- Location: Paducah, Kentucky
- Opens May 23
The Nobel Park Pool in Paducah’s city park is close to competitive size, equipped with a double waterslide and diving boards for kids with the price of admission. Also in the same park is the free to use sprayground that is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. There is also a concession stand at the park selling food.

- Opens after Memorial Day
As part of the expansive Madisonville City Park which has a miniature golf course, disc golf course and walking/biking trails, there is also a public pool and splash pad that will be open all summer.

Water parks
Beech Bend Splash Lagoon Water Park
- Location: Bowling Green, Kentucky
- Opens May 16
Admission into the Beech Bend Amusement Park includes their water park attraction, which has a lazy river, a wave pool, and splash park for kids. There are multiple thrilling, winding water slides for families and younger kids along with a leisure pool.
