HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – There is something for everyone this weekend in Hopkinsville and Christian County. The Juneteenth Experience: All Black Everything

  • Details: The community is invited to bring a lawn chair to Pembroke and enjoy food, vendors and music with friends.

Gordon Park Fish Fry Fundraiser

  • When: June 19, 4:30-8 p.m.
  • Where: Gordon Park, Crofton
  • Details: All dinners include fried fish, coleslaw, French fries, white beans, hush puppies, dessert and a drink. Funds raised will support the ongoing maintenance of Gordon Park. Adults cost $15.00 and children 10 and under are $8.00. Cash or check only.

Oak Grove Community Block Party & Resource Fair

  • When: June 20 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Where: Oak Grove Community Center
  • Cost: Donations accepted, free admission
  • Details: Hourly fitness classes, bounce houses, basketball tournament, vendors, food trucks and a farmers’ market. Fundraiser donations benefit the Children’s Hearts Foundation.

Jazzing For Juneteenth Festival

  • Where: Hopkinsville Visitors Center
  • When: June 20, 4-8 p.m.
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: The Jazzing For Juneteenth Festival will celebrate Juneteenth with live music, community activities and an evening performance by blues artist Tina Brown, known as the “Bad Girl of Blues.” Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy the outdoor event, with Brown scheduled to perform at 6:30 p.m.

Bigfoot Howl-N-Holler Contest

  • Where: Hopkinsville Brewing Company
  • When: June 20 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Cost: $10 to enter contest
  • Details: Think you can do the best bigfoot howl or holler in town? This event is Hopkinsville’s first contest of its kind. Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Winners in these spots will advance to the final showdown at GoblinCon 2026

Military Appreciation Night at the Hoppers

  • Where: Hopkinsville High School Tiger Field
  • When: June 20 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Cost: Free admission
  • Details: The Southwestern Kentucky Military Affairs Committee, Hoptown Hoppers and Olivet Baptist Church will host Military Appreciation Night to honor active-duty service members, veterans and military families. The evening will include giveaways, patriotic celebrations and a Hoppers baseball game, with the national anthem beginning at 6:15 p.m. before first pitch at 6:30 p.m.

Hopkinsville Chamber Orchestra and Chorus Inaugural Concert

  • Where: Alhambra Theatre in Hopkinsville

  • Cost: Adult tickets $25, children $15 
  • Details: The Hopkinsville Chamber Orchestra and Chorus will present their inaugural concert, marking the launch of a new local performing arts ensemble formed in partnership with the Pennyroyal Arts Council. The performance will feature regional professionals, guest artists and local musicians under the direction of Heejung Park. A celebratory reception will follow the concert, offering attendees a chance to meet the performers and mark the beginning of this community arts initiative.
