HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – As the country celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States, there are a few events to check out around Christian County including fireworks, the state fair and more.

Western Kentucky State Fair

  • Where: Western Kentucky State Fairgrounds, Hopkinsville
  • When: Daily through July 4
  • Cost: Admission $3, cash only
  • Details: The final few days of the fair include UCW Wrestling, a cornhole tournament, tractor pulls and more along with rides and food. The fair will conclude with fireworks and live music on July 4.

2nd of July Pennyrile Area Community Band Concert

  • Where: Casey Jones Distillery
  • When: July 2, 7 p.m.
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: The community is invited to bring a lawn chair and enjoy the food truck and festivities at the distillery while watching this free band concert. The PACB is comprised of local musicians who come together for free performances.

Yoga in the Park

  • Where: Virginia Park
  • When: July 4 at 10 a.m.
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation and Balance Hoptown will host an outdoor Yoga in the Park session on Independence Day. Participants are invited to bring a yoga mat and enjoy a relaxing morning of stretching and mindfulness in a natural setting.

Pembroke Community Block Party/Freedom Festival

  • Where: 144 South Main Street, Pembroke
  • When: July 3, 6-9 p.m.
  • Details: Pembroke will celebrate with food trucks, bouncers, a mechanical bull, trackless train and ice cream with a fireworks show at dark.

Red, White and Oooh! Community Fireworks Show

  • Where: Western Kentucky Fairgrounds
  • When: July 4 at 9 p.m.
  • Details: Free rides from 4-5 p.m. and other scheduled fair activities with wrestling and tractor pulls at 7 p.m. before the fireworks show.

Fort Campbell Independence Day Celebration

  • Where: Division Parade Field, Fort Campbell (5004 Screaming Eagle Blvd.)
  • When: July 4, starting at 1 p.m.
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: Full afternoon and evening of activities, including a carnival, live entertainment, a division ceremony, command remarks, a Charlie Daniels hologram concert and a fireworks show immediately following the concert. Food and entertainment vendors will be on site.

4th of July in Crofton

  • Where: Gordon Park in Crofton
  • When: July 4 at 6 p.m.
  • Details: Hot dogs and hamburgers will be grilled by the Crofton Volunteer Fire Department along with music and fireworks.
