Updated 5:38 p.m. KYTC reports that the roadway has been reopened.

Updated 4:46 p.m. The Hopkinsville Fire Department and EMS are responding to the interstate wreck that involved a motorcycle Monday afternoon.

Payton Rogers with HFD told Christian County Now that preliminary reports indicate that the motorcycle may have rear ended a vehicle and the male driver was ejected from the bike. He is currently being treated by EMS and will be flown via helicopter for treatment of multiple traumatic injuries.

According to the Oak Grove Fire Department, troopers with the Kentucky State Police are conducting an investigation. Traffic in this area is expected to be impacted for an extended time. KYTC reports that the eastbound lanes will be shut down for an unknown duration of time.

HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Christian County ECC has reported a wreck on I-24 in Oak Grove that may impact traffic Monday afternoon.

The injury accident occurred just before 4:30 p.m. by the 88-mile marker on the interstate heading eastbound. Dispatch told Christian County Now that this section of the roadway will be shut down until the wreck is cleared off the roadway.

This area is currently in a construction zone, with only one lane of traffic available for the east and westbound lanes. Details about the accident have not been released at this time.
