HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Hopkinsville Parks & Recreation is hosting their second annual block party throughout the Downtown Entertainment District with live music, food, a car show and more on Aug. 22. Festivities start at 5 p.m. and extend from Founders Square and into participating businesses allowing patrons to drink, explore, eat and enjoy.
Music can be enjoyed from Lee Simms, runner up from the Hoptown Idol competition, who will perform at Founders square until 8 p.m. Additional live entertainment can also be found at Hopkinsville Brewing Company, Camo Caravan, The Mixer and The Crusty Pig. Even more activities will take place at the municipal building parking lot including live demonstrations by the Lady Tigers Cheer and Dance teams at 6 p.m.
As part of the block party, Brandon Oldham, former member of the Local Development Corporation will be honored with a Bike Night. In 2025 Oldham died during a motorcycle accident in Hopkinsville.
“Brandon was instrumental in bringing ‘Bike Nights’ to the Hopkinsville-Christian County Downtown Farmers Market, so we are recognizing and honoring his legacy,” said a statement from the Hopkinsville Downtown Renaissance District. Motorcyclists are encouraged to showcase their bikes throughout the night alongside a competitive car show.
A special presentation will be made during the event to the Oldham family at 6 p.m. at Founders Square and live music will start after.
Other events on Aug. 22 in Hopkinsville include GoblinCon and the Hummingbird Festival.
