Hopkinsville, KY – Dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, sizes are waiting to be adopted at the Christian County Animal Shelter. The shelter is at 2935 Russellville Road, and the phone number is 270-887-4175. Business hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. and the shelter is closed for lunch from 12:30-1 p.m.
Meet Abigail, a beautiful 4-year-old Dilute Calico who is ready to leave her stray days behind and find a loving home of her own!
Abigail arrived at the shelter as a stray and was never reclaimed. While we don’t know much about her life before coming to us, she has been doing well during her stay and is showing us that she has excellent litterbox manners! She has been using her litterbox and keeping her cage clean here at the shelter.
We’re still getting to know Abigail, so we aren’t sure yet how she does with other cats, dogs, or children. A slow introduction and a little patience will be important as she settles into her new home.
Abigail has already received some important care here at the shelter:
- Vaccines
- Flea & tick treatment
- Dewormer
She will need to stay with us until she is spayed, but she can still be adopted now! Her new family can get the adoption process started and bring her home once her spay is completed. Adoption Fee: $63.60.

Nova is a 6-year, 3-month-old Catahoula Leopard Dog mix who is ready to put her past behind her and start her next adventure with a family of her own!
Nova was originally adopted from us and recently returned because her previous owners were unable to safely contain her. She’s back with us now, and we’re excited to help her find a home that can give her the security, patience, and love she deserves.
A few things to love about Nova:
- She does well with other dogs
- She is good with children
- She met the cats in our cat room and completely ignored them!
- She is a great car rider
- Her absolute favorite thing is a tennis ball!
- She will need some patience and training since she was previously kept outside and is not currently house or crate trained.
- Nova has received her vaccines
- She has received flea & tick prevention
- She has been given a dewormer
