Modifications to course
Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation announced that the course will be modified due to an upcoming road closure along Lafayette Road (KY 107).
A portion of Lafayette Road will be closed for utility relocation work, impacting part of the previously planned half marathon course. In response, Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation has worked with local authorities to develop a new half marathon route that will completely avoid the affected portion of Lafayette Road and the associated construction area.
“Our priority is to provide a safe and enjoyable race experience for our participants, volunteers and community,” said Toby Hudson, Superintendent of Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation. “While the Lafayette Road closure requires us to make some changes to the half marathon course, our team has worked to develop a route that keeps runners away from the construction area while still providing a great race experience through Hopkinsville.”
The Hoptown Half Marathon & 5K will continue as scheduled, with the start and finish remaining at the Christian County Justice Center in downtown Hopkinsville. The change applies only to the half marathon course.
The finalized, updated half marathon course information, including the new course map, turn-by-turn directions and other race-related details, will be available on the event website. Updates will also be shared through Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation’s social media channels.
The Hoptown Half Marathon & SK brings runners from Hopkinsville and throughout the region together for one of the community’s signature annual running events.
