HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Hopkinsville Police Department is investigating a shots fired incident that left a man injured overnight on Sunday.

Around 1:40 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire at the 1400 block of South Walnut Street in downtown Hopkinsville on Oct. 4, according to Public Information Officer Justin Rios.

Shortly after officers arrived on scene, 40-year-old Travis Thomas arrived at Jennie Stuart Medical Center on his own accord, suffering from a gunshot wound. Hopkinsville EMS then transported him to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee for additional treatment.

Officer Rios said this is an ongoing investigation, and the current condition of the victim is unknown.
