CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The popular reality show 1,000-lb Sisters recently traveled to Christian County to film part of an episode at Burdoc Farms in Crofton. The show has been on the air for nine seasons on TLC, following the lives of the Slaton sisters through their weight loss journey.

“I got a call from the producers of the show, they said they were looking for a venue close by for Tammy and her fiancé to look at so they could film an episode. I said I was happy to provide that opportunity,” Sara Shepherd, founder and owner of Burdoc Farms Weddings and Events told Christian County Now.

As seen in recent clips shared by TLC on Facebook, sisters Amy and Tammy visited the Crofton farm while touring wedding venues in the area. The show is primarily shot in Kentucky and areas of Western Kentucky, making the north Christian County property an ideal location for Tammy’s wedding.

Shepherd had a chance to be on camera to speak with the sisters and hear their vision for the winter wedding while exploring the property. Another clip shared by TLC showed a funny encounter they had with swans on the property.

Ultimately, Tammy did not end up booking with Burdoc Farms due to date availability issues, but Shepherd said it was a fun experience, “It was fun to do the show and get the exposure and meet Tammy and Amy and Andrea.”

The episode will air on TLC and will be available for streaming on Discovery+.
