PEMBROKE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Bolinger Real Estate & Auction has listed MB Rolland Distillery on their website, which will officially be up for auction on Dec. 7. This business has been locally owned and operated by Paul Tomaszewski and Merry Beth Roland in Christian County for nearly two decades, and they are now looking to pass along what they have built.

“Paul and I have given our exit strategy much thought over the years and decided this was an opportune time for a new owner to be able to fully take advantage of the numerous opportunities this location and business offers,” Roland told Christian County Now. “After 18 years of growing MB Roland Distillery, we have decided to retire and pass the torch to the next generation of distillers.”

The entire business will be up for auction which includes a total of 26 acres of land between the 10-acre distillery, rick house, production and bottling facility, event barn and tasting room along with 16 acres of undeveloped land.

The coupled opened MB Roland in 2009, taking in pride in sourcing local wheat and materials for their products and making their faces known around the county at events and markets. A purchaser will also be able to lease their newest storefront tasting room expansion into Cave City, and earlier this year, the distillery also debuted their new disc golf course that adds another fun way to utilize the large property.

It is being advertised as a “turn key operation,” allowing a potential buyer to continue the business after purchase. Their brand portfolio, recipes, aging barrels and distribution will be passed along with purchase.

This is the second time this year that a locally owned distillery has passed hands, with Casey Jones Distillery also announcing new ownership after being in business for over a decade.

This sale of MB Roland comes a few years before Buc-ee’s is estimated to open just down the road by Exit 89 in Oak Grove in 2029. This development is estimated to bring quite a bit of additional traffic and tourism to the area.

The auction will take place online on Dec. 7 at 12 p.m. through Dec 14 at 4 p.m.
