HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A railroad crossing replacement project that began Wednesday will shut down a portion of Fidelio Road near the Department of Defense railroad crossing for two weeks.

A news release from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says contractors have mobilized equipment to begin the crucial railroad replacement. Detour and closure signs are in place, but KYTC encourages drivers to plan their routes to minimize delays and backed up traffic.

Construction in the area should be finished by the end of November.
