HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation Department is continuing the tradition of giving Santa a ride through the streets of Hopkinsville before Christmas.

Santa will be riding along in a fire truck with the Hopkinsville Fire Department and escorted by the Police Department. On Dec.17 starting at 1 p.m., he will pass through the streets of Main Station downtown, Skyline Drive, Indian Hills, and Canton Pike.

“It’s an honor to transport Santa and bring him to Hopkinsville neighborhoods,” said Payton Rogers with the Hopkinsville Fire Department. “It’s an event we’ve enjoyed doing for three years now and always look forward to. I think our firefighters enjoy the privilege of escorting Santa just as much as the children enjoy seeing him!”

A GPS tracking his location will be available on the Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation website, along with his street by street turns on the map so families can be ready when he passes by. Santa will be riding in the passenger seat of the fire truck, so families are advised to keep that in mind when finding a spot to stand outside.
