HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – There are a lot of festive holiday events going on around Christian County this weekend including Christmas parades in Oak Grove and Hopkinsville, holiday movies, and Santa’s annual drive through Hoptown.

Dec. 15

Christmas in the Grove: This annual parade also has a visit with Santa and tree lighting. Pictures with Santa and goody bags will be available. There will also be free hot cocoa and cookies. This will be at the War Memorial Park starting at 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Nativity on Ninth: The experience offers a glimpse into Bethlehem during Christmas and will include characters in costume at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. The free event runs from Dec. 15-16 from 6-8 p.m.

Dec. 16

HES/energynet Night Christmas Parade: A nighttime Christmas parade with holiday light displays in Downton Hopkinsville. The parade starts at 5:15 p.m.

The Polar Express with Santa: Join the Alhambra Theatre to see the Polar Express on the big screen with some candy and popcorn before the Hopkinsville Electric Christmas Parade. Activities start at 12:50 p.m. and tickets are free!

Dec. 17

Santa Claus is Coming to Hoptown: Santa will be riding through the streets of Hopkinsville in a HFD firetruck. He will be waving at all the families standing outside. The route begins at 1 p.m.

Pints & Presents: Are you all thumbs when it comes to wrapping paper, tape, ribbon, and bows? Bring all your unwrapped presents to the taproom and the ladies of Ribbon Obsession will make them into works of art so beautiful that the recipients won’t want to open them. The first gift will receive complimentary wrapping with the purchase of a pint; additional gifts will be wrapped at $2-$10 per package. This event begins at noon and goes through 4 p.m.

Home Alone: Join the Alhambra Theatre to see Home Alone on the big screen with some candy and popcorn to help get you into the holiday spirit! Tickets are only $5, the movie begins at 6 p.m.
