HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – After the success and popularity of events around Hopkinsville in 2023, Parks and Recreation has released their schedule of events for the new year.
“Last year was a success by all accounts! Many of our events from 2023 have been established in the community and always bring a good turnout,” said Rachel Sanders, the Marketing and Events Coordinator for Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation. “Overall, we are pleased with the response from the community this past year and look forward to the upcoming seasons.”
The department’s new program coordinator Rachael Wolf is bringing some new events to the table, and people can also expect their annual favorites. For the summer people can expect movies in the park, along with the 8th Annual Touch a Truck event, the 8th Annual Summer Salute Festival, and the 6th Annual Squealin’ on the Square.
A Hoptown Hose Down, community fireworks show, Hoptown Idol, and popular holiday events will round out the year. Find a full list of events and dates on the Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation website. They hope that offering a wide range of programming will continue to draw people in and enrich Hopkinsville.
“As the Parks and Recreation Division for the city of Hopkinsville, we believe it is our responsibility to help foster a sense of pride, well-being, and connection among the community,” said Sanders. “By providing free and low-cost recreation and entertainment offerings, we aim to continue to enhance the quality of life for Hopkinsville residents.”
