The Human Rights Commission of Hopkinsville-Christian County hosted their annual Woman's History Month Celebration at the Milkweed Health and Harmony Emporium.
HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Human Rights Commission of Hopkinsville-Christian County hosted their annual Woman’s History Month Celebration at the Milkweed Health and Harmony Emporium.
The theme for Thursday night’s celebration was Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. The crowd heard essays from three high school scholarship applicants and watched as they were all awarded the Women Educating Women Scholarship. Caroline Payne received $500, Kylie Batts received $300, and Haylee Jarosz received $200.
The 2024 Fannie Bronson Postell Woman of the Year Award was awarded to Linda Pearson. She is a former educator and business owner. While presenting the award, they stated Pearson is an encourager and true inspiration throughout the community. Her daughter accepted on her behalf.
