HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A 19-year-old motorcyclist fled from police on Fort Campbell Boulevard on Saturday after an attempted traffic stop for speeding.
Just after 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 22, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office advised law enforcement in the area that they had two motorcycles fleeing from them heading northbound on Fort Campbell Boulevard. CCSO was able to stop one motorcyclist, with the other fleeing the scene.
According to a HPD report, the suspect continued northbound reaching speeds over 120 mph before making his way onto Walnut Street in Hopkinsville. He turned onto East Ninth Street where a pickup truck was approaching on the outer lane, allowing Hopkinsville Police to parallel the suspect. He lost control of the motorcycle, crashing into the right fender of the police cruiser.
The suspect was transported to Jennie Stuart Hospital for minor injuries. He was arrested and charged with speeding, first-degree fleeing or evading police, and first-degree criminal mischief.
