2 injured after car hydroplanes, flips on I-169 in Christian County

A Memorial Day accident in Christian County resulted in a person being ejected from a vehicle, while another was trapped inside.

HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Hopkinsville Fire Department and emergency services are working to clear an accident on I-169 (Pennyrile Parkway) in Christian County that injured two people Monday afternoon.

The accident occurred when the vehicle hydroplaned on the roadway and flipped multiple times near mile marker four, according to HFD. Scattered rainfall over the past few days in the area has caused pools of water to gather across roadways.

One of the individuals in the vehicle was extricated by emergency crews, and another person was ejected from the car during the crash. HFD says both were transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
