HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Back-to-back wrecks on different areas of Interstate 24 occurred overnight, resulting in multiple injuries and damage to vehicles.
Around 2:20 a.m., deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle crash on I-24 by the Welcome Center near the state line. The black pickup truck was driving westbound when it ran off the road, hit a light pole, two trees, signs, and overturned several times, according to John Godsey with CCSO. Despite the notable damage to the vehicle, the driver decided to seek medical attention on their own after being evaluated by Hopkinsville EMS.
Happening right about the same time, another accident was reporter further into Christian County on I-24 by the 78-mile marker. Godsey says an eastbound car collided with the back of a tractor-trailer causing the car to run off the road and hit a fence.
The driver and three passengers in the car were all taken to Vanderbilt Health in Clarksville for injuries, while the driver of the truck was not injured in the crash.
