HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Students at Christian County High School have started their annual greenhouse spring sale, where the community is able to purchase a variety of homegrown plants all week long.

Thousands of plants including Boston ferns, hanging baskets, succulents, houseplants and a variety of potted plants are currently stocked at the CCHS greenhouse along with select vegetables and herbs. Each plant was propagated, planted, watered and cared for by CCHS Plant Science Pathway students. All proceeds from the sale will benefit the school’s FFA chapter.

The students also help sell the products throughout the day, with teachers, staff and fellow students filtering in to purchase items. Preparations for the sale started way back at the beginning of the school year, with ferns planted in September and several other varieties planted several months ago.

For the rest of the week, their hours are as follows:

  • Tuesday: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., 2 to 4:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
  • Thursday: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., 2 to 4:30 p.m.
  • Friday: 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Customers can enter CCHS from Glass Avenue, and travel to the back of the school by the baseball field where the greenhouse is located. Only cash and checks are accepted.
