HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The community gathered at First Street Baptist Church Wednesday evening for a ribbon cutting of the new street sign honoring Pastor C.E. Timberlake and Kimberly Timberlake. Pastor C.E Timberlake Way replaces what was previously Quarry Street in Hopkinsville. City officials and community members gathered in front of the church to watch the ceremony.

“I want to give special thanks to the mayor, city council, councilwoman Natasha Francis, and the hood for coming out today! I feel honored,” said Timberlake.

The renaming honors the 82-year-old pastor who has served the community for 39 years. The decision to rename the street comes after a unanimous vote from city council members who wanted to celebrate Pastor Timberlake’s upcoming 40 years at the church.

Mayor J.R. Knight presented the street sign and Pastor C.E. Timberlake cut the ribbon to commemorate the special moment. After the ribbon was cut, the crowd broke into prayer and gospel. Pastor Timberlake told the crowd he was so excited and just couldn’t hide it.
