HOPKINSVILLE, KY – The City of Hopkinsville is asking residents to share their thoughts on the future of aquatic amenities in the community through a new public survey.
Hopkinsville City Council recently reviewed preliminary concepts for possible future water amenities, including an outdoor splash pad and a year-round indoor aquatic facility. The concepts were presented to council during the Sept. 17 Committee of the Whole meeting as part of ongoing discussions regarding the future of the former Bluegrass Splash Family Aquatic Center site.
At this stage, the concepts are preliminary. No final design has been selected, construction has not been approved, and no funding has been committed. Before determining what direction the city should pursue, City Council wants to hear directly from the community.
The City of Hopkinsville Aquatic Facility Survey asks residents about the types of aquatic amenities they would use, what features are most important to them, and other factors that should be considered as the city evaluates its options.

“Community feedback is an important part of this process,” Mayor Knight said. “Before any decisions are made, we want to better understand what our residents want, what they would use and what they believe would provide the greatest benefit to our community.”
The survey also collects general demographic information, such as age range, council ward and household size, to help the city better understand the needs and interests of different areas and households throughout the community.
Residents of Hopkinsville are encouraged to participate, and feedback from individuals living elsewhere in Christian County and the surrounding area is also welcome. The survey will remain open through Oct. 9, 2026.
