HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Local favorite event Dancing with Our Stars returns to the Alhambra Theatre in September, and voting and donations are now open to the public.

This is the fifth annual competition, and it will feature eight pairs of community members including Cat Lacy and Austin Jauregui, Brandon and Kiley Killebrew, Desma and Vulenzo Blount, Becky Dearman and Nancy Askew, Joe and Tierra Leavell, Mary Anne Garnett and Caleb Lancaster, Kate Russell and Joey Medeiros, and Craig and Katie Richardson.

Each pair will be coached by Bailey Dance Addiction and Gymnastics, Bluegrass Dancecats, and Dance 280. Rehearsals will culminate in a stage performance on Sept. 7. All funds raised will go to benefit the Pennyroyal Arts Council and Sanctuary, Inc.

In the past, Dancing with Our Stars has raised over $300,000. Heather Lancaster, Executive Director of Sanctuary, Inc. previously told Christian County Now that the event will be an exciting show for everyone.

“Thank you to our stars and supporters who put the spotlight on the wonderful community services Sanctuary and Pennyroyal Arts Council has to offer,” Lancaster said.

People can donate leading up to the competition toward a favorite team. Online donations will be used to name a winner for the Online Fan Favorite award. The overall winners of the competition will be named from a combination of dance scores and dollars raised. Tickets for the in-person show are $60 while live stream tickets are $25.

Votes can be cast and donations can be made at the Pennyroyal Arts Center website.
