HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Festival of Trees is making its return to Hopkinsville at The Bruce on Friday, Dec. 13 and 14. Local organizations have decorated themed trees using their own decorations and supplies, according to Zoe Edwards, Training and Outreach Coordinator with the Pennyroyal Center.
“Participants will be able to tour a wonderland of 32 fully decorated Christmas trees with the chance to win their very own,” said Edwards. Raffle tickets for the trees are available for $1 at the door, and entry to the event is free.
All proceeds from the event will benefit various programs at the Pennyroyal Center including Trace Industries, Genesis East and West, Intensive Services, Veterans Center, and the Trilogy Center for Women. The Pennyroyal Center specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness.
On Friday and Saturday participants can stop by to shop among local vendors, or participate in the tree raffle from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. An exclusive first look of the trees will be open to the public on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. as local artist Paula Gieseke hosts a paint party. Tickets to this event are $35 and community members can register by emailing zedwards@pennyroyalcenter.org or by calling 270-886-2205.
