HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Around 6 a.m. this morning, a home on Southwind Drive was damaged in a fire, leaving one resident displaced.

According to reports, firefighter crews arrived to find smoke coming from the garage of the single family home. Crews had the fire under control within minutes. Firefighters say that the frigid temperatures made operations extra challenging and that a space heater is suspected to have contributed to the fire.

No injuries were noted to the occupants or firefighters, but one resident was displaced due to smoke damage throughout the home and safety concerns with electrical issues.
