HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – On Jan. 16, Amanda Brunt began her new position as The City of Hopkinsville’s public information officer, following the departure of Chris Jung when he moved out of state.

Brunt will work with all city departments, agencies, directors, superintendents and the Hopkinsville City Council. Brunt joins the City of Hopkinsville from HCA’s Tristar Division of hospitals where she served as the marketing director. Prior to her role as marketing director, she served as the public information officer and marketing director for the Christian County Health Department.

With over 15 years of serving in the Hopkinsville area, Brunt brings a wealth of communication and experience to the role. “Amanda will be an integral part of building effective internal and external communication strategies, among other critical duties, and I am confident the experience and expertise she brings to the table will ensure her success in this role,” said Mayor Knight.

Additionally, Brunt’s position will produce printed and video material about the city, be responsible for organizing special events such as news conferences and awards ceremonies, improve upon department transparency, promote a positive public image, provide essential information during a crisis and enhance the brand of the city through consistent social media utilization.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to, once again, work alongside fellow Hopkinsville colleagues, share our story and serve this community,” said Brunt.
