HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Hopkinsville Police Department is inviting the community to join them for a cookout this weekend at the dog park on Pardue Lane.

Officers will be serving up burgers and hot dogs at 11 a.m. on April 13 while also showing a K9 demonstration. Pets are welcome to this event.

Officer Royal Marfil with HPD told Christian County Now these events are a great way for them to build trust with community members, “For those that have not been able to attend a cookout with us before, can expect to have fun! It’s a great way to interact with the community, especially the kids, in a fun and lax environment.”

Throughout the spring and summer, Hopkinsville Police will host multiple cookouts with schools and other organizations. They are also planning on hosting a fish cookout at Lake Morris sometime this summer and will be grilling at the Touch a Truck event at Debow Park on May 11.
