HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A Hopkinsville man was arrested after fleeing from police and hiding inside residence late Thursday night.
According to a report from the Hopkinsville Police Department, officers observed a vehicle travelling on Lafayette Road with a covered license plate. A traffic stop was initiated in a nearby parking lot when the suspect put his car into reverse, hitting the patrol car and driving away from the scene.
Police say the 37-year-old suspect then sped down Lafayette Road, driving onto Stone Valley Drive and ignoring traffic and road signs. He eventually pulled into a carport on Stone Valley where he exited the vehicle and ran into the residence.
Officers apprehended the suspect inside the home, where multiple bags containing cocaine were found. He was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle on a suspended license, fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, possession, speeding, no registration plates, driving under the influence, disregarding stop signs, possession of an open alcohol container, and display of an illegal registration plate.
