HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – On Tuesday, a man with two active warrants was located and arrested by police, then transported to Christian County Jail, where deputies found crystal methamphetamine in his pockets.
According to reports, the suspect was a passenger in a vehicle going 10 mph over the speed limit on West 15th Street. When the vehicle came to a stop, officers also noticed an expired registration plate.
The suspect was in the back seat moving nervously. Police asked for the driver to roll the back window down, and the subject gave a false name and date of birth.
The driver stated to police that the man in the back was giving false information, and police were able to identify the man with two active warrants. He was placed under arrest and charged with giving officers false information, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, and first-degree promoting contraband.
While at Christian County Jail, deputies found a plastic baggie on the subject that contained meth crystals.
