HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Christian County’s primary election will be held on May 19, with 13 voting locations available for residents.
Two candidates for sheriff will be on the ballot, including Sheriff Tyler DeArmond and his challenger Erik Pacheco. The results of the primary will determine who will serve as the next Christian County Sheriff.
Voters will also be responsible for selecting the republican candidate for Mayor of Hopkinsville. On the primary ballot is Hopkinsville Mayor James R. Knight, Christian County Magistrate Russ Guffey and former Hopkinsville City Councilmember Natasha Francis. The winner of the primary will face democratic mayoral candidate Markeeta Oldham Wilkerson and late filing independent candidate Desaepa Vansauwa this November.
The primary election includes certain contested Christian County Fiscal Court and Hopkinsville City Council seats as well as PVA. Also on the ballot is U.S. Senator for the 1st Congressional District, and U.S. Representative. Find the sample ballot for Christian County here.
Nonpartisan races are not included in the primary. Mayor and council positions spread throughout the county in cities outside of Hopkinsville will take place in November. The nonpartisan deadline in Christian County to file for the November 2026 election is June 2.

The following locations will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 19. Registered voters are able to vote at any of the following locations. A valid ID is needed to vote.
