HOPKINSVILLE, KY – A Ninja Warrior event is coming to Hopkinsville on Sept. 30.
The event, held by Joy Closet – a clothing donation nonprofit for foster families – will take place at the Stadium of Champions on 9503 Eagle Way.
Just like the famous TV show competition American Ninja Warrior, the Hoptown Ninja Warrior will have an obstacle course for multiple team entries to compete including father and son duos, teams of four, and open course entries.
The courses will be set up for people of most abilities to complete. “There will be some hanging obstacles, swinging obstacles, and balancing type of things,” said Heather Gray, founder and executive director of Joy Closet.
The obstacle course will also feature a warped wall similar to the one seen on American Ninja Warrior.
Co-ed teams are optional on teams of four and open courses, and participants must be at least 5 years old to enter. Father and son duos can enter for $50, with $25 for each additional son.
Maximum entry is $100. Teams of four can enter for $100 while open course entries are $30.
Early ticket sales are available until Aug 31.
The competition times and open course time spans will be determined on Sept. 1. Prices will increase by $5 per person on this date as well.
Father and son competitions will begin at 9 a.m., team competitions will begin at 11 a.m. and open course time will start at 1 p.m.
Spots for vendors are also available. Military ID cardholders can secure a space for $25 while non-military members can receive a space for $35. Spots are available for over six hours in a 15 foot by 10 foot space. If interested, email heatherh@joycloset.org.
“We are excited to see families gathering and supporting each other as they do the course, enjoying the food trucks and the vendors all while having a community experience, ” Gray said.
