OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Oak Grove Community Center will host a community-wide yard sale next month on August 10-11. The event promises to be a dream for yard sale enthusiasts.
According to Community Center Director Melissa Lynch, this event is new this year, and that the idea came about when a longtime Oak Grove resident called to inquire about yard sales.
“We put our heads together and came up with an idea and bounced more ideas off of each other,” Lynch said. Ultimately, the collaborative effort led to the creation of this expansive yard sale.
Lynch mentioned they are seeking about 30 participants, and those interested can contact the community center directly at 270-640-7575 or Christa Campbell at 270-484-9007. Participants are required to bring their own tables and chairs and can bring a variety of items such as decorations, antiques, household goods, clothing, and more to sell.
The yard sale starts on Saturday, Aug. 10 at 9 a.m. and runs until 2 p.m., continuing on Sunday Aug. 11. It will take place outdoors at the community center, 1705 Thompsonville Lane.
