OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Oak Grove Farmers Market is returning for its second season beginning this April. The market made its debut in May 2024 after the idea gained rapid traction on social media.

Mayor Jackie Oliver along with Lesa Dussault, co-owner of Chef Jamie’s Food Truck spearheaded the initiative to bring out local vendors and artisans to the market, located behind the Shell gas station on 2905 Walter Garrett Lane.

Throughout the first season, 10 to 15 vendors showcased an array of handcrafted items such as crochet items, jewelry, t-shirts, and jams, as well as fresh fruit and produce. Local food trucks also participated, offering sweet treats and hot food to the community.

Due to the success and love of the weekly market, the city is bringing it back and welcomes returning and new vendors. Those who would like to participate are asked to show up to the market whenever they can. There is no set up fee or business license needed.

The farmers market will be open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information contact, Oak Grove City Hall at 270-439-4646.
