HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A Hopkinsville man was arrested after multiple shots were fired at a group of juveniles Monday night.
On Aug. 17 just before 10:30 p.m., officers with the Hopkinsville Police Department responded to the area of Honeysuckle Drive and Evergreen Park after shots were reported. A male suspect had approached a group of juveniles nearby and pointed a handgun at them. As the juveniles fled the area, approximately eight to ten rounds were fired by the suspect. No injuries were reported.
A police report says officers observed a man behind an apartment building near the fence line who appeared to be running and matched the description of the suspect. He was identified as Delrico McKissick of Hopkinsville.
He was detained without incident, and the gun was located in the vicinity by a tree. It was later determined that the gun was reported stolen, and the suspect was a convicted felon. He was charged with tampering with physical evidence, wanton endangerment, two firearms charges.
